Should surrogacy be legal in all 50 states?

I was watching "surrogacy pact" on Amazon Prime.. and the actor acting as a lawyer had stated it isn't legal in every us state.. which made me obviously google it and it's true.. it's not legal in all 50 states... So it got me thinking:
-Should it be?
Bonuses:
-Why should it be or not be in your opinion? 
-What are the laws in your state about surrogacy? 
-Would you ever be a surrogate? 
Never realized there was such a taboo around surrogacy.

Yes. As long as everyone is a consenting adult, and proper legal agreements are in place to protect all parties, I think surrogacy should be legal everywhere. Former co-workers of mine are using or have used surrogates. 
I couldn’t do it, because I’d get attached and I’d worry about my mental health.

Yes. I think if another woman would give someone that gift, then why should the law, once again, have any say over someone's reproductive rights? As long as contracts are drawn up and all parties involved are on board, why is it anyone else's business how a couple brings a baby into this world? It makes zero sense to me. They should also have all parties evaluated by a psychiatrist to make sure everyone is mentally strong enough to handle it and to safeguard against coercion. Put a waiting period on it for, say 5 months where any party can back out before anything happens.

Absolutely. With guidelines of course, all consenting adults with a full understanding of what is being asked. 
I have told my friends and my sister that if they need someone to carry their baby, I will do it. (My best friend was just diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS and was told her chances were low) I knew it wouldn’t make them feel better but I want them to know I will help if need be.

I wonder what the arguments against legalizing it are? I can’t think of any reason it should be illegal.  
I have often thought of being a surrogate, but I would be considered too old to be a surrogate for anyone besides family.

I WAS a Gestational Surrogate...or, as I like to put it, "I was the the xhild's 1st landlord!"
I did this with a couple that would never be able to carry a baby to term. Pregnancy is a BREEZE for me, and I like it, so honestly they were doing ME a favor, and paying me for my time and effort too! My husband and I are done adding to our family, so it was a real treat to help someone else begin theirs!
Every state has its own Laws regarding Surrogacy, but you can go to a state that allows it, and have the baby there. I live in CT, and traveled to Maryland to meet the couple at the Law Office that was handling their case. We interviewed each other to make sure that we were all compatible personality-wise. The Reproductive Endocrinologist was also there in that state, along with the Psychiatrist's office where I and my husband were checked for mental heath status prior to the whole thing starting!
The infertile couple paid for everything at the start of our journey. My health care policy covered actual prenatal care. I signed a contract which outlined my responsibilities, the infertile couple's intentions, and the scale of pay that we discussed before during the interview process.
I'm happy to say that the hormone therapy that I underwent was a success-the 1st batch of embryos took immediately! I became pregnant with fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. They were born one naturally, and one via Csection.

Yes. I personally wouldn’t  do it because I’d be scared that god get attached. But as long as everyone in the family and the carrier are in an agreement and legally signed papers why not.
