Baby swing? Yay or nay?

Hello! I had my shower yesterday and the one big item that we didn't get was a baby swing. I was wondering if its a necessity to get one or if I should wait? I was looking at this one for $89

I also really really wanted an owlet, so I'm trying to decide whether I get the swing or get the owlet...help! 😩

The owlet is woo and not recommended. 
It can actually cause more anxiety for parents. 
I would check garage sales for a swing and save some money since baby will only use it for a short time.
If they hate it, you can try another one without being out a lot of money.

We use are swing to this day and my boy is 9 months. Definitely was helpful when he was a new born.  We just bought a used one that basically looked new and only cost us 20$.

Yay for the swing.  Did not need an owlet. My man loves his fisher price snugabear swing. Especially the mobile that moves.

My daughter hated hers. I would look at getting a used one for cheaper but $89 for a swing really isn’t that bad of a price!

i would! 🤷🏻‍♀️ i know i’m definitely not getting the mama roo, i feel like i might hate it just as much or more than my son would. i really think he’d like the swing. i also really wanted an owlet but let’s be real, were first time moms, it’s not like we’re already going to check on them 57 times during the night or whenever they’re sleeping lol but totally up to you!!

I don’t think it’s necessary to have right away. If you find that you think it may be helpful after baby arrives then go ahead and get one then. They aren’t meant for sleep so they never seemed super useful to me since my babies always fell asleep in them and had to be removed anyway.
