Are you considered a Mother if you haven’t had your baby yet?

Happy Mother’s Day!! My family seems to be split on this answer and so we are not celebrating Mother’s Day for me this year.

I’ve considered myself a mother for years before actually giving birth. I’ve had losses. I’ve helped raise family kiddos. Celebrate if you want to - nobody has the right to tell anyone they aren’t a mother. There are many ways to be a mother. Giving birth is one of them, but there are also foster moms, adoption. If you’ve cared for or helped nurture a child- wether they are in the womb or out - you’re a mom💕

I think you should be acknowledged as a mom-to-be. A few friends and my mom have wished me a happy mother's day. My husband brought me flowers, a card, and Starbucks this morning. He's working tonight and I'm making dinner and doing chores as usual so other than that it's just a normal day for me ❤ I hope you get some more attention today little mama! Definitely talk about what your expectations are for next year. Hope it's a great day!

I say I’m not a mother yet bc my baby hasn’t been born. But a ton of people wished me happy Mother’s Day at church this morning and my mom and sisters insist that I am a mother already even though I disagree with them. It’s such a small thing though. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal whether you consider yourself one or not atp.
