FTM Epidural?

Question

Hey anyone else planning on having one? Reasons why? Why not?
I am planning but wondering If i should see how I go on they day.
I have read the draw backs and risks.

FTM and getting one for sure. The less pain the better in my opinion. My dr said he doesn’t understand why some women choose not to get it. He said there’s no point to put your body through all that when there is now so much to help you. I already knew I wanted it before that though lol

I didnt have a set plan with my first and thought I’d go as long as I could, but once the “real” contractions started I immediately changed caved. Natural is extremely hard and I feel unless you’re dead set on it and prepare yourself both mentally and physically you’re likely to cave. After my first, I thought I’ll never torture myself again. I’m not going to exhaust myself more than I have to... there’s plenty of exhaustion caring for a newborn in and itself. I have a 20 month old now and still haven’t slept a solid night through. Take all the rest you can is my opinion.

I’m getting one! It seems the only option to me of pain relief that doesn’t alter your state of mind, just your pain. I’d rather be there mentally rather than physically for the birth! I want to remember the experience. 
I personally don’t get the want to do it naturally, especially with a first when tearing/cutting is likely! Someone said to me “they don’t give medals for doing it naturally” and that’s very true!

I had one with my first son and had a very enjoyable birth experience. My second son was born so quickly, I didn't have time for an epidural last time. And oh wow, I would just not rather choose that for myself again. 
This one could come so quickly that I may not have the chance again to get an epidural, but if I have the option, I do hope to get it. ☺️
Everyone has a different hope and idea for birth & that's okay! I totally support Mama's going medication free and support women who want an epidural. As long as baby makes it into this world safely, that's what ultimately matters! ❤️

I'm going in with no plan really.. I'd love to not get an epidural this time, but I personally feel the only way I won't get one is if I get there too late..as bad as that sounds. I'd love to go without for the benefits of walking soon after, milk coming in right away, ect but I don't think I'm mentally strong enough lol

I thought about trying natural but i know i shouldnt im defiantly getting one Because i have a heart condition and i dont want it to over work itself. I am going to hold off as long as i can so it doesn't wear off.

I’m for sure aiming to get one! Makes vaginal labor a lot more tolerable and if you need an emergent csection, you won’t have to go under General anesthesia and be completely knocked out. Which puts you and baby at increased risk and delays bonding time

I know myself and I think I’ll be getting it. I just don’t want to be miserable entire time when I can have pain relief and relax. I want to have positive memories of the event and pain will ruin it for me.

Yes. And this time I’m getting one the minute I can. Last time I worked through 16 hours of labor just to be exhausted. Not doing that again.

I will try not to again. With my son I lasted 5.5 hours on pitocin without it and then requested the epidural.  Pitocin sucks x1000. Contractions are close and strong from the start. His birth was 100% thanks to pitocin.  My water broke but I wasn't having contractions. I'm proud of my 5.5 hours without and feel like no less of a woman for choosing an epidural at that point. And looking back I made the right choice for me because he was born 6.5 hours later. 
That being said- I will try to do it natural again this time. But I will get an epidural if I need pitocin again.  Hopefully I wont and this kid will come out all on his own.
