Brushing teeth?

Question

This is probably a stupid question. But my son is 7 months old and has two teeth on the bottom. Should I start brushing them? If so how should I? Is there baby tooth paste I should buy? I'm a FTM so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.

Don’t use toothpaste according to our kids dentist but definitely brush. We started off with giving the toothbrush as a tether and at 11 months old my little guy LOVES to brush his 4 teeth. He packs his tooth brush around everywhere with him. He has a special “car toothbrush” too for when we go places.

Not stupid. Yes you're supposed to start. But it's mostly to get them used to it, so don't obsess about it if you don't do it every single day. You can use a washcloth. I use the orajel finger brush (it's a silicone thing you wear on your finger) and training toothpaste  (only because the flavor is interesting to them to they cooperate. A plain washcloth with water works, too)
I got more stringent about brushing later on when they had a full set of teeth and molars.

My daughter started getting teeth pretty early, we have a baby banana toothbrush that she’s used for awhile just as a teether and practice. A couple weeks ago we just got her a big girl toothbrush and a training toothpaste, she turned 1 yesterday. She’s got 10 teeth so far. I’m about to schedule us some dentist appointments soon.

But some baby toothpaste and a baby brush and do them before bed
Keep them clean and get them in the habit too
