Anyone else taking progesterone shots?

The progesterone shot (sometimes called "17P" for the drug name [17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate] or its brand name, Makena®) can increase a woman's chances of having a full-term baby.

I took my first shot today at 16W4D because of 3 consecutive losses and one loss being in the second trimester.. just curious if anyone else is taking them! ? My first time!

I took them my last pregnancy due to having a miscarriage at 20 weeks. I delivered my daughter at 38 weeks. I am pregnant again and started mine last week (week 16). My last pregnancy I got them in my butt but this pregnancy they’re using an auto injector and they go in my arm. They suck, but are worth it for peace of mind.

I’m also taking them! I used them during my last pregnancy as well. They’re not fun but anything that helps keep baby in longer I am all for!

This is my second pregnancy taking the shots weekly since 13 weeks both times. I had a cerclage placed for both due to losing the first at 17 weeks, and the last time I made it to 38 weeks. Planning on the same this time. The shots the last pregnancy were rough! This time I heat up a heat pad and let the vile sit on it so it warms up and is not so thick. My right side is my good side, I don’t even feel them. The left hurts because of sciatic pain but the shots themselves do not hurt.

We got pregnant through IVF and had to do progesterone injections for the first 12 weeks. Not going to lie, they suck! Hang in there! 😊

I had the shot at week 7 and I’m on daily progesterone tablets twice a day 😊 I’m 18 weeks and this is my third pregnancy, no kids. I vouch for progesterone
