Is this rude or not to ask if the pregnancy was planned?

So many, I'd say the majority, of people I've told about my pregnancy have asked me if my pregnancy was planned. Some of these people know me well, know I've been with my partner for 10 years and know I'm 28 with a house/job etc (my life is stable). Other people like some work colleagues don't know me like that and may think I'm about 20 cause I look young.
I think it is rude... it doesn't sound right to me to ask if the baby was planned/wished  for or an 'oops' or surprised baby... what do you think? Is this something people ask?... Like 'Congrats, when are you due? How are you feeling? Boy or girl? Planned it?'

We were asked that a lot and I’ve come to accept it as normal. Our first was planned but 2 & 3 were surprises. I think the most surprising one we’ve had is “don’t you know what causes that” and I responded with “yes and we like it”

So this is baby number 2 for me, but during my last pregnancy I got asked those same questions, I’m married, I was 28 years old and had been in a relationship with my husband for 6 years at the time. I had successfully not gotten pregnant in 7.5 years of sex, and I don’t know why anyone thinks it is more likely that 1 year into my marriage i accidentally got pregnant 🤷‍♀️, but a couple of my coworkers and my brother asked me, like wtf? Idk I think it’s rude but apparently it is a common question.

Haven’t been asked by friends/acquaintances, etc. but have been asked by two medical professionals when they found out my age (21). Married at 20 and yes our baby was planned!

I'm 23, my first baby and been with my boyfriend for ove 6 years. Family are over the moon but I've had people at work ask me if the baby was planned.
I have PCOS and it hurts everytime, I always tell them that this miracle has been planned for 4 years and is a blessing to me and my boyfriend.
I'm 18 weeks and only a select few people at work know because I'm sick of being asked this question 😂

I’ve never been asked that question nor have I thought to ask someone that question. No matter how close u are to that person its rude. If u dont know the answer to that question already u shouldnt feel the need to ask it. Its a private matter n telling ppl ur ttc can be very stressful n bring more pressure on the women n man especially when it dont happen right away

I’ve been asked this so many times. I do think it’s rude but I don’t get offended by it. I’m so excited for my baby boy and my pregnancy that I’ll tell anyone who asks lol I can see why they ask. We’ve been together almost 10 years without giving definite answers on babies or marriage. We tried for 10 months, got engaged in the process, and months later announced our pregnancy. The only thing that’s rude to me now are the ones pressuring us to tie the knot before he’s born so that he will have a “family” 🤬
