What are the chances ???

My sister wedding is Saturday and I'm 2 weeks away from my due date and it's an hour and 45 minute drive and this is my first and my body has been gearing up alot preparing for birth in the last few weeks. What are my chances of having it?

Statically, with your first baby, 40w5d is the most common date for the baby to be born.  Despite signs of “gearing up,” there is no reliable indicator of when labor will start. Women can have Braxton-Hicks for months (I have had them since about 15 weeks with this pregnancy), lose their plug, have dilation and effacement for weeks, all without labor actually starting. This is especially common for first time moms as it takes your body longer to go into and move through labor. 
I am super close to my sister, so I would go. I would bring my hospital bag just in case. I would drink lots of water. I’d also rest as much as possible and probably plan on a early night. There is probably a better chance of you going into labor then next day because of all the excitement and movement the day before. 
Even if you do start having contractions, if you leave when you notice them, you will likely have plenty of time and still be able to talk through them as you drive back. For most FTM, labor is not very quick. I had contractions for about 7-8 hours before I really had to stop and breathe through them. 🤷🏼‍♀️ After that it still took baby 9 hours to arrive.

If I were you I would not be going only because the what if makes me so nervous. I would hate to go into labor that far from home/my doctor. I think if you declined to go everyone would understand given the circumstances. But personally I don’t think it’s a good idea to go that far away that close to your due date because anything could happen mama

I am going to say the opposite of everyone. If there is a good hospital near the wedding location I say go for it. First babies statistically take longer to get here and I would feel heartbroken if I missed my sisters wedding and no baby arrived. So I advise talking with your ob team and see their opinion but if another hospital is close I would 100% go

So you’re 38 weeks when the wedding happens ? 
Look - no. It sucks but no. The baby is the priority and while yes people are right it usually does take first time moms longer to labor - sh*t can also hit the fan and you want to be as close as humanly possible to your doctors and hospital.

I went into labor with my first baby at 37 weeks so id say its possible I wouldnt risk it

I think your chances are high. 
You will be progressing more every day and that car ride and walking is only going to progress you more. Is the wedding in the same state you live in? I took a quick trip to vegas which is an hour out of my state where my insurance wouldnt be active and i went into labor and had to drive all the way back to az to give birth. Not fun.

Really no one knows. You have to do what you feel most comfortable with. I didn’t travel far once I hit 37wks to be on the safe side.
