I think Doctors are just padding their pockets with this unnecessary "minimally invasive" surgery. They don't mention this additional surgery when you are signing up. But they are routinely scheduling them for IVF patients. They got your embryos and now your stuck handing them over even more money.💲💰💲💰💹

I don't agree since my hysteroscopy was fully covered by insurance so he didn't get much from me by doing it. My doctor always has my best interest at heart and wanted to make sure I was 100% for the transfer because why risk it on something so important? I felt good having the peace of mind that my uterus was healthy. Now I'm 6 weeks 1 day so I'd say it was worth it!

I think if you are paying for IVF you want to make sure everything is good before transferring an embryo.  If something is wrong that causes the transfer to fail that could have been prevented with that procedure, you would be upset that they didn’t do it.

Both my clinics listed it in their full IVF breakdown when I asked for full financial info - this some of those hidden costs i push others to ask for.   
In my mind if I’m paying 30k for IVF I want to know everything is in perfect order before proceeding and I think that’s their mindset as well to keep their success rates up.

I had both the dye test and the water ultrasound before doing ivf. Dye test found no abnormalities. Water ultrasound for 2 polyps/fibroids that had to be removed. Honestly it’s worth getting those done before doing ivf. Ivf is a huge cost and you want to have the most chance for success as possible. Plus a lot of insurances pay (at least partially) for those tests. I paid out of pocket for the dye test ($800) and my insurance fully covered the water ultrasound and the removal of the polyps.

I’m 25 young never had a problem our ivf is due to male factor dr said this test is important and had to be done I did it turned out I had 2 polyps! I never had symptoms at all got them removed right away and now I’m pregnant! it’s worth it trust me

They found 7 polyps in mine. I'm currently in the middle of my first invocell round. I'm do thankful they did it.

My doctor recommended I have a hystoscopy for cervical dilation before my embryo transfer because my cervix was so narrow it was almost closed before we do our embryo transfer. Just had it done 2 weeks ago

Have you had an ultrasound that showed possible abnormalities in your uterus? If so, then the procedure would make sense
