Pap at 11 week appointment?

Anyone else have to get a pap at their 11 week appointment? I had just been to my gyno in November of 2018, so only six months prior and had a pap done, prior to my pregnancy. I did have to switch to another office because mine didn’t offer OB care once I conceived in Feb, but all my records were transferred to the new provider. I just thought it was strange, and then they called to let me know that I came back negative for all std/i’s. Like yes. I know. I had one six months ago and I’m married. That wouldn’t have changed....

I’m surprised they did another pap, but they *always* do sti tests when you’re pregnant. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you’re monogamous. And just because _you’re_ monogamous doesn’t mean your spouse is...

I had one at 11w5d but I was due to have one this year and my dr said she could only do it in first trimester of pregnancy. It went fine, no spotting afterwards at all.

You can refuse to do a repeat pap... I will at my first OB appointment. Had my last one in Novemeber as well. Plus theres no reason unless something is wrong that they need to do any kind of pelvic exam untill the end of the pregnancy for strep B  swab.... then cervix check IF you want them... everything else is not necessary. With my daughter the docs always got pissy when I would refuse because it meant they had to go read my chart and look it up... throws a wrench in their assembly line routine lol but ita our bodies and babies oh well 🤷‍♀️

My ob (we see the whole
Practice so about 8drs) checked my chart to see if I had one done at my regular yearly the May prior and it was done so she didn’t do another the stds are standard

I just had my 11.5 week appointment. She said they would have done one but mine was 6 months ago and was at the doctor's office that I go to.

Nope. My dr waits until your 6 week post partum check up to do a pap. She checks your blood for stds but no internal checks.

Had one at my 8 week appointment.

Yup. Went to the doctor in Dec. with my angel baby and they did a full work up at that appointment. Then I went back in March with my rainbow baby - 3 months later - and they did it all again. Just part of their protocol.
