Were you abused in the foster system?

Emotional, physical, verbal, sexual.. if you were in the foster system I want to know if you were subjected to these things.

Idk why you are so curious about abuse in the system, but it happens. Personally just a few things I witnessed or experienced were getting kicked with cleats in the chest, withholding food/forcing to have too much, eating disgusting things(salt in a bowl of cereal), one girl I lived with was shot, babies with addiction issues being neglected, every child's mental health being neglected, being made to feel less that non foster kids by not providing proper clothing or general talking down to. It happens, alot.

I wasn’t in foster care, but I did work for CPS. There were a lot more reports of abuse/neglect with bio parents than foster parents (in fact - it seemed like quite few reports on foster parents). 
However that doesn’t mean abuse doesn’t happen in foster care. There are good and bad people everywhere. Curious to see the poll results as more people reply. Also curious as to what made you post this particular poll? I get you might not want to answer that- but if you do, it would be interesting to hear.

My father and his sister were in the foster system and faced a lot of physical abuse. They used to run scolding hot baths and force them to get in them. That’s really all he would ever tell me.

My cousin and one of my neices experienced physical, mental abuse. My cousin, unfortunately, was sexually abused

There are some great foster families out there. My grandparents fostered two girls who’s dads were in the navy and their moms left them. They’re two of my closest aunts. They grew up with my moms family in a loving home and became part of my family. I’m thankful my grandparents opened their home to foster.
