Is a small amount of coffee safe in pregnancy?

pregnancy?" /> I put a small bit of instant coffee on a spoon, add it to some warm milk and then just a tad of sugar. It's amazing. I don't put a whole spoonful of coffee in there, only a dime sized amount for flavor. But is coffee ok to consume in pregnancy? I've heard of the 200mg limit. Apparently instant coffee is extremely low in caffeine. Have any of you mamas had coffee in pregnancy? Thanks in advance. Hope you all have a wonderful night.

I have also heard that a minimal amount is ok, but my sister in law who swears she had her usual cup of coffee every day and it was fine.. Her son ended up having a heart condition during the pregnancy and they had to schedule for csection due to labor risks. I am not a professional so I cannot advise you, however I personally just deal it's best to do without caffeine for the pregnancy. I had my 17 week ultrasound at my peranatologist (fetal genetic ultrasound) and the dr did say it's best to avoid it. I'm sure there are multiple answers for this though! Best wishes mama!!

I have a 6 oz coffee (my keurig let's me choose size) and fill 6 oz almond milk and I drink about half of it. Gives me just enough to help get me going in the morning and it's helping to ward off headaches. I cut it cold turkey with my first and had debilitating headaches. But my ob and nurse said what I'm doing is perfectly fine. I just avoid anything else with natural caffeine.

The recomended daily caffein intake combines all caffein in all products. Things like chocolate have caffein so if u need to modify. Tricky part is to know which food contains it and how much.  I'd say get a decaf option and enjoy ur drink more (less guilt)

I used to drink like 5-6 cans of soda a day in my first pregnancy 😳 baby came out perfect lol. I just recently stopped drinking soda and I'm 32 weeks with my second baby girl is perfect. Caffeine is okay just don't overdo it
