Bacterial vaginosis causing abnormal cells ?

My doctors office called me today with results of my pap. I have bacterial vaginosis and low grade abnormal cells. I’m freaking out a bunch. On top of that I have a UTI so I will be taking 3 antibiotics. I’m currently 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant and worried about what health risks I’m putting my baby at even if these antibiotics are deemed “safe” 
Could the infection be causing these abnormal results ? My previous pap last year from my last pregnancy was completely normal.

I’ve had abnormal cells “of undetermined significance” before and it was suggested at the time they can be caused by infections, so it MIGHT be partly due to to BV. Is your OB prescribing the meds, or is your Dr aware that you’re pregnant? If so, I’m sure they’ve prescribed safe meds. Whenever you take antibiotics it’s a good idea to also take probiotics (or eat probiotic food like yogurt, or fermented food like kombucha and kimchi) so that your good bacteria doesn’t get completely wiped out.

I’ve had an abnormal pap during pregnancy and everything turned out completely fine. They may do a colposcopy to look further and then they will just repeat the pap every 6 months u til you get a normal result. They also discovered I had a UTI at my first appointment (I had no idea) and she said it was pretty common. I took the antibiotics because I read that UTI could cause miscarriage if untreated. As far as the BV, again that can be common in pregnancy due to all the hormone changes. My personal opinion is that your doctor knows what is good for you and if you trust them, I wouldn’t worry. Lastly, just pray hun. 💜
