Anyone have their cervix stretched?

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow with my first baby. I went to the OB this morning and she checked me and said I was a “tight 1 cm dilated” and that she could stretch me if I wanted. I agreed and it was super painful. Not sure how much she stretched me, but she said she did not anticipate that it would do much in terms of putting me in labor. Anyone have their cervix stretched? Did it help induce labor?
