How’s it going with PIO shots?

Anyone doing PIO shots? I am good to go for a transfer on May 30 and am officially starting my shots today! Im so nervous and getting a little bit of anxiety about the shots. I’ve watched YouTube videos and they make it look so easy!
How are you all handling them? How are you feeling? Any side effects? TIA
UPDATE: I just did my first shot and though I was nervous, once I got the needle in, I was like, “that’s it??” Lol not bad at all! Thank you for your tips!

They do suck but a few tips from my experience...
- Draw up your specified amount and then warm up the syringe under your boob. Lol, it works! And makes injection quicker/easier.
- Massage the area before injecting.
- Lay down on your tummy for the injection if possible. I didn't do this for my first transfer, and it's been so much better this time around!
- Massage the area well for a few minutes after the injection.
Even with all these tips, the areas will likely become sore and might bruise. Not to scare you, but I had some numbness associated with both sides for several months after finishing the injections. It might be because of my thin frame, but that leads to another thing to consider -- if you are thin/don't have much meat in the bum area, you can ask for 1 inch needles for injection, which helps a little.

I will begin my PIO shots tomorrow for my transfer on the 31st. I did the PIO shots with my failed transfer last month. I freaked myself out leading up to it but they really aren’t bad at all! 
I use a heating pad to warm up the vial about 10 minutes before. I also find that laying on the couch with the leg for the side you are injecting hanging off helps relax the muscle. After the injection my hubby would massage the spot for a couple of minutes and then I would apply a warm compress for about 10-15 minutes.
As far as side effects, when I stopped taking the PIO after my negative beta last month I started breaking out around the injection sites. We determined that I may be mildly allergic to the sesame oil so we are switching to ethyl oleate this time. Other than that I didn’t really experience anything except sore boobs.

Hey Nora, I am on them. I’ve probably taken at-least 10 or more. They caused me great anxiety in the beginning as well. They don’t hurt that much while I’m doing them. But, days later they become sore and will get a lump in the area. I put my heating pad on it and I’ve been fine since. Good luck 🍀 💕

They really aren’t that bad. With time you get sore but massage the area after for 5 minutes or more and use a heating pad - it helps.

Warm the PIO vial in warm water or on a heating pad before you inject it! In thins the oil and is easier to inject. Massage area after! When you get those knots, I have an electric massager and icy hot which helps.

I’ve been doing mine a little over a week now! They aren’t terrible, a little soreness after it’s done, but most of the time I don’t even feel it going in. I was using my heating pad after, but don’t even really need to do that at this point.
