Momshaming
I just have to get this out there... those that mom shame... shame on you. We are all doing our best and doing what is best for ourselves and our babies. If you aren’t breastfeeding, that’s fine. If you are, also fine. If you have an alcoholic beverage when you want, good for you! If you don’t want to, that’s good too! Disposable diapers? Awesome! Cloth diapers? Boy you are brave! Stay at home mom? You’re dedicated and I commend you because it’s a lot of work. Working mom? I also commend you because you sacrifice a lot!
You do you and remember a happy and healthy mom means a happy and healthy baby. You can’t take great care of your kids if you’re not mentally and physically healthy yourself, so do whatever works for you and your family!
I haven’t been personally momshamed much, except for the pediatrician at the hospital who seemed shocked I planned on pumping and bottle feeding instead of putting her on the boob and I remember thinking why is that bad? I will be able to track how much she is eating and ensure she’s getting enough... and if she’s ever hungry still after a bottle I throw her on a boob... and she has no problem going from boob to bottle so why am I getting this look of “how dare you!”?
I just want all you moms out there to know you’re doing great! Keep up whatever works best for you and your family and don’t let ANYONE make you feel guilty for doing your best!
