Dumb cervix question

I feel stupid asking this (especially as a second time mom) 😂😂. I’m 36 weeks, 3.5 cm dilated and 40% effaced, cervix is soft. Doctor barely gets a fingertip in and is talking about how she feels the baby’s head and is superrrrr low and engaged. Said if I stuck my finger in, I would feel her head (ummm ewww 😂😳). But then she said my cervix is still pretty high up.... how is my cervix still high if my baby is so low, her head is practically falling out of me 🤔 Truly curious! Just don’t know.
