OB won’t check my cervix

I’m currently 39+5 as of today, today I had my weekly OB appts and I asked my doctor to check my cervix to see if I’m dilated at all, at least a centimeter or 2 (this is my first baby) I’ve been experiencing some cramping/pressure down low and I’m simply curious, well she refused. She said it’s unnecessary because I wasn’t having pain (today) and that it’s not a ‘comfortable’ thing to do. I was a bit upset & furious after I left because I wanted to know. She checked me once when I went to the hospital during a scary episode (around 20ish weeks) & I honestly felt nothing when she checked my cervix then. Is this normal? Should she of checked me or am I being a bit oblivious?? Also, she keeps pushing induction on me. She doesn’t think I’m going to go into labor naturally. I get inducted June 8th and I honestly think my son is going to be born before then. She keeps telling me she’ll just check whenever I’m at the hospital
