Over tired baby?

Question

So how do you handle this ???  Baby is cranky and isn’t going down for bedtime ; was awake four hours because he didn’t want to take last cat nap ... it’s now 8:15 pm... he looks like he doesn’t want to sleep
He’s falling asleep then wakes , and he’s super fussy and he’s never this bad
He did learn how to do something new with crawling , 
He’s having trouble shutting down 
Is this a possible reason? He has so much energy and it’s almost 9 pm
How do I help him fall asleep ????

Usually if they learn something new it can definitely impact their sleep. My son has been all over the place lately but I think it’s because he’s learning new skills. Hang in there!

Ah this is so strange but our little one is the same at the moment! He’s just learnt to crawl and since then he no longer takes 10 mins to go to sleep at night but 1-2 hours of messing around in his cot and crying before he finally crashes..its the middle of the night here and he’s been awake 1:30-3 already refusing to go back to sleep 💤 typical! My first day back at work tomorrow 🙈😬 hopefully it’s just a phase and because they’ve learnt something new 🤞

This is us right now! His naps are finally getting semi regular but his night sleep went from going to bed in 10 minutes (but very occasionally up to an hour) after routine and then sleeping through the night with the odd sometimes feeding at 3 or 7am. Now the last almost two weeks he has been HORRIBLE at bedtime or about an hour after he goes down he is up and screaming. 
And he only wants me to hold him. I am exhausted from 3-5 times a night getting up for him for feedings. I do not know why! Is it one long growth spurt? Is it teething AND growth spurt? Sleep regression? 😭
I thought we lucked out and it all changed.
