Tampons

So my mom doesn't want me using tampons. I don't know why. She's extremely manipulative (this isn't me just being a basic "I hate my mom" teen. She regularly makes my stepmom cry because of the way she treats her and they only talk to confirm pickup plans and child support) my only guess is that she doesn't like using tampons so she won't let me use them. She also refuses to believe that I get really bad cramps because she's never had really bad cramps.

I'm going to visit my grandparents and cousins in texas in a couple weeks. I'm going by myself. We are driving up to Oklahoma and renting a cabin by the lake. I'm supposed to be on my period the last half of my trip. I don't want to miss out on the fun so I decided that I was gonna secretly get some tampons and try and use them while I'm on my period now so that I know how to use them when I get there.

I ordered a box on Amazon (I have my own debit card and Amazon login) and it came a few days ago. I started my period this morning but it was super light so I just used a pad. This afternoon after dinner my flow was a little heavier (still light but it was more than just the spotting I had this morning) so I decided to try to use a tampon after I got out of the shower. It took 2/3 tries but I can proudly say that I accomplished it and I can now use a tampon

I was so proud I almost texted my big sister to tell her. (Shes not actually my big sister but she might as well be. I've known her most of my life and she considers my stepmom her 2nd mom) she's been trying to talk me into this for months. I should have taken her advice sooner. It's so much more comfortable than pads. Having to hide them won't be fun but I only have 2 more years till I can move out
