Is it normal for my iud strings to be sticking out?

Got it inserted a few days ago, no pain or anything but when i insert my fingers the strings are so long that i can move them around, i just inserted mu fingers in again and they were sticking out of my vagina a little. 
Should i wait till my 6 week iud check up to mention it or get it checked asap?

It is normal to be able to feel your strings with your fingers if you feel around up there. They should come out of your cervix a little bit. But if the strings are hanging all the way out of your vagina, you should definitely get  checked! The strings should be tucked up inside you, not hanging out.
