Does how much someone makes matter when looking for a SO?

Didn’t know how to word this really but when you’re dating around does it matter how much money someone makes? To me it doesn’t

It mattered to me that he had a steady, dependable career with goals. It also mattered that he could manage his finances well. The actual paycheck amount wasn’t my focus.

I mean. It depends.  To a degree, yes, it matters. I don't want a dude who cannot support himself or pull his weight in our relationship.  That doesn't mean he needs to be pulling 6 figures or anything but he needs to be making a livable wage, or at least on his way to it asap.

It mattered that he isn't a bum, but I don't care about the actual amount. My boyfriend and I both make only a small amount but we're working to make it better.
