Should I be concerned about Bv in first trimester?

I am 9 week and just got a call from my dr saying I’m positive for BV. She prescribed oral antibiotics. Idk how long I’ve had BV though, for all I know it’s been the whole pregnancy so far, since I only had the pelvic exam a week ago for the first time in the pregnancy. Should I be concerned? It’s my first time diagnosed with BV. I googled it and found a lot of disturbing articles about miscarriage. And they say don’t let it go untreated but I’m just concerned if I’ve had it this whole time.
