Nicole

When my son was born the lactation consultants had me supplementing with the sns system until my milk came in. My milk came in and I felt that he wasn’t satisfied so I would feed feed feed until he was upset and yanking on my nipple and then I would give him a bit of formula. We have been doing that ever since. I know that does help my supply but that’s the road we went down. He’s 6.5w old now and eats about 4-7oz every 3-4 hrs. I am pumping about 3.5-4 oz every 4 hrs so I’m not quite keeping up. I went away last weekend for a wedding and did my best to pump every 4 hrs but being that I was in the wedding it didn’t happen as regularly. I went three 8 hrs stretches with out pumping. Today I can tell my supply is down and I haven’t breastfed since about 4pm. I pumped at 9pm and only got 2oz total. I’ve considered just drying it up since I’ve never kept up anyway and I’m going back to work in 2w. But I do enjoy things about nursing.

If I wanted to replenish my supply and also match what his demand is, how do I do it? I know y’all say stop supplementing and put

Baby on the breast but really though, he will scream and be miserable and so will I until I make up for what I’ve lost. I’m not willing to do that! How can I utilize my pump to do it?
