I was beaten and raped by the man I shared a life and child with.

When I was 17 I had my oldest son, 2 months later and a mont after my 18 birthday my then fiancé spent 8 hours beating and trying to kill me and then he spent 2 days after that locking me in a room and assaulting me sexually... I pressed charges... he walked away with 3 years probation... I’m going to be 21 and I still can’t sleep at night, I have nightmares, cry, I wake up in a panic begging for him to stop and my partner now has to deal with all of this... I am having a really hard time coping with this and adjusting to life after trauma. Any advice or kind words would be greatly appreciated.
