Birth Photography?

I’ve found the cheapest birth photographer I could find for $500 and my husband is still on the fence. He thinks it’s pointless because no one else will see these pictures and they will be less favorable images. However I think the fact that they are raw is beautiful. 
What are y’all thoughts on birth photography? Gross? Beautiful? Waste of money?

I think for $500 you could buy your own nice camera and ask a family member or close friend to take them or you and your husband. And then you’ll have a nice camera to use for pictures of your kid while growing up.

My husband takes our birth photos with his DSLR. Basically the lens is the most important part of the camera you could easily get a whole kit used for less than $500 and it would be a great starter camera for your family. And you can take your own photos for life. It’s so much fun to practice. Also if you have a new iPhone the camera quality is amazing! All basically all you need is a laptop or computer with windows and you can edit the photos yourself, a DSLR with a good lens or an iPhoneX.

I think if you got enough cash why not do it. I see it as money comes and go if it's stuck in your mind why not you don't wonna regret it. All the best :)

We hired a photographer with my first. She got some beautiful pictures of my family and captured some great in the moment pictures of me in labor. I ended up having a c section so we ended up paying for pictures of my labor. The nurses actually volunteered to take pictures with our camera of the baby right after birth. And with my next 2, they also took pictures for us without us having to ask.

My aunt filmed my first and tbh I've only watched the video once maybe twice. It was a very long delivery with her. .. Now the pictures taken by her I can look at 1000 times they are all after she was out and on my chest.
