Have you ever cheated in a relationship?

I’ve never cheated but I know people in my life who have, and their justification is that they were lonely, and lacking attention or affection from their partner. 
So I’m curious to know WHY people cheat, because I know everyone who has, has their own personal reasons.

Yes. I did. And it broke me. My soul was literally ripped in two. I can tell you I did it because I was lonely, and lacking attention, and all of that may be true, but I also had some deep rooted issues going on within me that made me unworthy of anyone’s love. I was diagnosed with acute anxiety, and bipolar depression. I seemed counseling and worked through my issue. And After it all...I ended up finding God. I was baptized a year later. Once a cheater always a cheater is not true. I learned from my mistake and now I’m with an amazing man who I could never dream of cheating on.

I cheated in a 4 year relationship. The person was incredibly abusive manipulative and neglected every single one of my relationship needs. Person lied, stole from me, and was openly cheating on me.I tried to leave a few times but was faced with actual death threats. If i never met the person i cheated with, I never would have left the relationship and would have likely committed suicide.

Yes, when I was 16 & 19. I paid my price and learned my mistakes and accepted it. I suppose I don’t have a valid reasons why. Young, Curious, dumb and heart beaker. 
As adult, A married women, I would never make childish mistakes like that again!

Call me a POS all you want guys. Because everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Yes, I have cheated on someone before. I was 16 in a long distance relationship (wed never met irl) and my hormones got the best of me. I craved real touch. Afterward I told him about it, and turns out he had cheated too. We both forgave but eventually grew apart for other reasons. People that cheat aren't always the scum of humanity. Not unless they do it more than once.

Nope. I never understood the concept of cheating. If you want to be with someone else, first leave the current relationship and then you’re free to do whatever/whoever. 
Makes absolutely no sense. I always told my husband - if he EVER wants to be with someone else or getting feelings for a friend - tell me so we can go our separate ways. I will not tolerate being cheated on and will not tolerate being  something he’s “stuck” with. He agreed and we both said we would be honest if something like that were to ever happen. Luckily it hasn’t and hopefully never will. We have zero desire to be with anyone else.

I had experienced a traumatic loss. During the first three months after it, I didn’t feel like I was living my actual life. Everything left like out-of-body and not real. My now-ex was gone, living 12 hours away, and offered little in the way of support during my grief. I had a one-night stand with an acquaintance the night before he moved three states away for a new job.

But I doubt you’ll have anyone comment on here about why they cheated. The glow community is not nice or forgiving to cheaters.
