Toilet seat

Recently moved in with my bf and he constantly leaves toilet open after he uses it... it’s not even about the seat for me, but I was raised to always close the lid so less germs get out and the bathroom looks cleaner. It grossed me out so much to walk in and see the seat open, even if the toilet has recently been cleaned. I just hate it. Is it unreasonable to just ask him to close the lid?
