Do you think this is wrong?

My mother states that if someone does me dirty or hurts me it isn’t her business and if she had a connection with them before she will continue Bc it’s between me and the person. I think that is SO WRONG. I will teach my kid that if someone does your siblings dirty, you will no longer have contact with that person Bc your family comes first.

It’s really all circumstantial. 
If it’s an actual serious hurt, I couldn’t imagine not having a loved ones back. 
If it’s petty squabbles about nothing actually important, I wouldn’t get involved either. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think that’s a childish way of thinking. It’s all very middle school to me. I’m not saying that for each case though. I think it all depends on what’s actually going on and I believe it’s unfair to expect someone to completely cut ties with someone else for what they’ve done to YOU. Like what if you’re friends with both of the people involved? It’s too big of a generalization to put upon each situation, so I would disagree with you, and agree with your mother.

Depends on the situation. If it's a disagreement then that's between them. If the person stole from them or did something terrible then I would cut them off.  I have friends that don't get along but that's between them and had nothing to do with me.

It depends, for example: my uncle and my mom hate each other, but my uncle and I get along and my cousin and I get along.  If someone is just generally a not great person and I’m connected to them and they hurt someone else, I likely wouldn’t hang out with them much.  One person can’t always judge another fairly, so getting multiple perspectives seems like the best way to go.
