Kids?

So my bf has made it pretty clear that he wants kids someday, makes comments like “you’ll be such a great mom one day” but will always pair it with “if that’s what you want, of course.”
I don’t think I want kids, we’re pretty young so I have more time to decide but my experience with babysitting and being a counselor at summer camp has made me pretty certain that I wouldn’t enjoy raising a child. 
He does always say “if that’s what you want,” would you guys interpret that as him saying he’d be happy with or without? I’m planning on asking him next time the convo comes up but I’d like some input as well.

I think he’s just saying if that is what happens with you two you’d be great at it. Just like if you made good spaghetti he would said “you’re a great cook!” Doesn’t mean he wants you to actually get a job in it. Also, your kids and kids you babysit are completely opposite. I promise. Once you hold your own baby its SO different. But even if it’s not something you want later on it should be something you both talk about. Like you said, say something next time. Or bring it up yourself. It will show that you are actively thinking about it instead of it being something you just say on a whim when he says something again. ♥️

Saying you’d be a good mom does not mean he clearly wants kids. I hope that’s not what you are basing it off of. You know he wants kids when he says something like “I can’t picture myself never being a father” or “If I never found the right person to have children with Id be disappointed”
