Nursing moms...question?

I just wanted to know if any other nursing mom are having the same struggle. Every time I try to lose weight, even if it’s slowly, my supply drops a lot. I’ll go from making 4oz. from my haakaa and fully feeding my baby each feeding to maybe an ounce and my baby is constantly nursing to get more milk. I’m I the only one?

Yup. Totally. I tried losing weight, not a huge calorie drop, but switched to healthier food and my supply dropped. Well, baby didn't gain weight properly while I was eating different. I've gone back to how I was eating before and he's thriving again. My waist won't thank me, but my little boy will, and that's OK for me for now x

The number 1 reason for supply drop is nothing drinking enough water. When you work out you’re sweating which means you have to drink EVEN MORE water than what you’re currently drinking right now (which should be a little more than half your weight in ounces). 
The next reason is caloric in take. Right now is not the time to be dieting. You should be getting your typical 2k calories plus an extra 500 a day for breastfeeding.

I haven’t had this problem but I’m also not pushing myself very hard in that department. I decided I needed to make some healthy changes that were sustainable in the long run. So for now, my goals are simply to cut out snacking between meals (I’m a boredom eater) and to take at least 5 walks every week.

Caloric intake and water are the 2 most important things for your supply. So you must not be eating enough calories for your supply. Can you continue your caloric intake but just eat better calories to lose weight plus some exercise?

Luckily, I haven’t had this problem. I’m on a strict eating clean meal plan and working with a trainer 3 days a week (walking the other days). But I drink a ton of coconut water and water each day & my diet is filled with tons of protein. I did a lot of research before I started back working out to make sure it wouldn’t effect my supply. I’m an over-supplier in general though - currently up pumping at 4am for relief because my boy is sleeping through the night mostly - so maybe that’s why?? Protein is super important too and I take my prenatals religiously and following a pumping schedule. Not sure if any or all of that helped but worth a shot!! Good luck!!

SAME I’ve stayed the same since I dropped the immediate baby weight. 10lbs over my conception weight.

ahhhhhh, that's why I'm not trying to lose weight. I have an extra 10-15 lbs on than I'm used to. but itll stay there because i don't want to tank my supply. i make healthy choices, i dont over eat or eat junk food. but no diets.
