38 w 5 days and 80 effaced does this mean baby will come soon?

At todays appointment today and the doctor says im 80% effaced but only 1 maybe 2 cm dialated. She said I could go any day or could go late whenever he is ready to come. I know they always talk about dialation but how much does effacement matter?

I’ve been 70% effaced since 34 weeks and I’m 38 tomorrow. We were anticipating an early delivery but, looks like there’s a possibility of going full term. However, I’m being induced next week if she doesn’t show up before then!

I'm 40 weeks 5 days. At my 40 week appointment I was 2 cm diolated and 50% effaced. I'm still pregnant. My next appointment is Thursday at 41 weeks. Thwyll be checking diolation at that appointment as well, and schedule induction.
