Any lonely mamas here?

I live in Chicago, I have a 9.5 week old, looking for some friends.
Went to a new mom Chicago group yesterday, but didn’t click with any of the ladies 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
How do you meet new moms and bond with them? I am 30, middle class, don’t like diamonds and don’t care about what brand of clothes I am wearing lol

I’m a north sider and just find the mommy groups are a lot of pressure. And now that I have a 20 month old and another due in 4 weeks, I feel like the mommy groups don’t want me. So those don’t really work for me. I don’t know, it’s so hard!! I’d just like to grab breakfast with someone some day, let the babies sleep or color or eat or whatever, but I don’t know how to put that out there. It always turns into another mommy group thing. And yeah, I am not fancy.  I shop at thrift stores and try to be pretty minimalist, so I sometimes feel like I’m not as made up as a lot of these “yummy mummies.” I dont know what the answer is!

I’m in Chicago too (Northside)! Due in September with my first (at 36), and moved here about 9 months ago so I still don’t know many people outside of work, let alone new moms. Also very uninterested in status-y competitions, but very interested to learn how people find moms they can bond with over more than “just” motherhood.

Hi feel the same !! I have a almost 7 weeks old baby ! And I been trying to find like mommies group or something to distract myself too and get baby involve with other kids other vibes !! I stay on the south side by blue island and hopefully to meet other mammas with the same range of age of kids

Also in Chicago...
This might not help you but maybe someone else. I delivered at Prentice and they have a "Transitions to Motherhood" class that meets for several weeks. I am so glad I went to it because most of us are still in touch and have play dates several times a year. We also have a texting group that gets used on a regular basis. One of the mothers moved to South Dakota and is still texting with us.
Our first kids are now all two and some of the women have had a second or are pregnant again. It's been great. I am the oldest (by several years) but don't feel strange about it. We have never once had a conversation about jewelry or clothing labels. Well, one of my friends complimented my wedding ring but that's about it.  I am not big on the whole jewelry thing, did not want an engagement ring 😀
I also live in a neighborhood (University Commons) that has a kids club with a Facebook page. That helps too.
