Needing advice!
Hi. Long post.
So I'm pregnant with baby number 2. Right now I am 35 weeks and 3 days. At around 30 weeks my doctor brought up doing a VBAC. I had a c-section with my first because I was induced and everything was going right along until her heart rate started to go down with every contraction and after pushing for 4 straight hours I ended up having a c-section because my daughter was stuck sideways in my pelvic bone. So my doctor thinks I would be a great candidate to try a VBAC because my body did everything it should have last time.
Well a week after that I gave her the go ahead to transfer my car to the only doctor in my area who will do a VBAC. ( who happens to be my surgeon who did and is planning on doing my next c-section)
Well I got a call a couple days later saying my insurance will not cover for me to do a VBAC at his office and my options were to try and file a complaint which would take up to a minimum of 2 months, which I don't have that time, or they could transfer my care to a hospital that's 2 hours away. So i told them to just stick with my original plan and to schedule my c-section.
So yesterday I had my 35 week appointment with my midwife who wanted me to do a VBAC, and when I told her all about what had happened with the insurance she was completely pissed.
So she thinks I should just wait to go into labor naturally and when I go into the hospital to refuse a c-section and make them do a VBAC to make the hospital charge my insurance. She scheduled my c-section for 39 weeks and 1 day and told me if I wanted to do this she could push back my c-section until 41 weeks and wait and see if my body goes into labor naturally.
So I need thoughts? Advice on what I should do?
