Successful sweep at 40 weeks?

I’ve got my first sweep this morning if I decide to have it. I’m 40+2 but they don’t seem very successful?

It’s one of those things that really can’t hurt and *might* even help. It reduces the chances of needing a medical induction after 41 weeks so personally I feel like why not?

My doctor said for every eight women who get a sweep, it prevents one induction (on average). Worth trying I guess but yeah, the success rate isn’t super high

I’m on my second sweep at 40 +5 and I’m 3/4cm dilated. First one was Wednesday & another today. So it’s definitely helping. Midwife said she would expect me to have baby in a couple days xxx

I had one with my first daughter with no luck. I'll be asking for one today at my appt for her sister. I'm 38w6d. 🤞🏾🙌🏽🙏🏽
