What carseat is better in your opinion!?

Is it best to buy an infant carseat or go ahead and buy a 3 in 1 carseat where it can fit her for awhile? Because what if I buy the infant and she grows out and needs a new one a few months later? what do you think?

My first child is just shy of a year old and still fits her infant car seat. 
I personally recommend starting with an infant car seat so you don’t have to strap or unstrap babe every time you get in or out of the car.

Both! You will need the infant seat when the baby is little so that you can easily get them out of the car, still in the seat. When they’re newborns and can’t support themselves, it’s really hard on yourself and on them to be lifted out of the convertible seats all the time.

I did a ton of research on this. I ended up getting a convertible carseat that starts at 5lbs. It is the safest carseat and I've asked all 9 of my doctors if I would be able to take baby home in it (assuming she is more than 5lbs, which she will be.) They say yes. I researched the safety between an infant car seat and convertible and convertible is safer even with an infant as long as you make sure baby fits in it properly. I didn't do it to save money, I did it because it seemed like the safest thing to do and I am not going to be carrying her carseat and attaching it to a stroller because a baby shouldn't be in a car seat that long.

Many go up to 35lbs so the baby definitely won’t grow out of it in a “couple” of months. 
My daughter was in her past 1 yrs old. 
For my second I have gotten a infant seat that goes up to 2 years old. The Chicco fit2 .

I went for an infant car seat as I wanted to be able to use it with my pram frame. 
We got the Cybex Cloud Z as it fits with my iCandy peach frame. It’s suitable for birth until approx. 18 months so I feel like we’ll get good use out of it before we have to get a new one.

It also depends on the hospital policy. The hospital I delivered at with my first bae you couldn’t leave without having an infant car seat. But I suggested using infant seat anyways so that way if babe is sleeping you can keep them in there while your out and about and don’t have to worry about waking them up.

Our infant seat that we used with our first two kids was expired, so I went through this decision, too. I realized that I hate lugging the infant seat around (and it’s killer on your recovering body/posture), so I just got a convertible. My babies are giant, so size won’t be an issue. I’ll unstrap baby and then baby wear or use the stroller.

Both are equally safe when installed and used correctly so if you’re looking to save money, just go straight to a convertible. If you’re looking for convenience, definitely start with the infant carrier and then transition to a convertible when baby outgrows the infant seat.

Depending on where you live, you have to have a detachable infant car seat to take baby home in. I have to bring it into the hospital after baby is born for them to check before we're discharged.
