Juror duty ?!!!

Can I get out of juror duty if I am a stay at home mom and have no one to watch my kids and because I just got surgery this past Monday.

Yes. I said I was the sole carer for my son and that he wwasnt attending childcare nor did I have anyone to watch him. They ask for proof such as child birth certificate. Send them a copy and you should be excused from jury duty

Yes. I have got out of twice. I got called shortly after she was born and in my area, breastfeeding moms can be excused for 1 year. Got called for it again earlier this year and just had to fill out a form explaining that I am the sole caregiver for my child with no one else being able to watch her, and I was excused.

There should be a affidavit for you to fill out when they mail you the summon, Fill it out and still call and speak to someone!

Just be honest. They’re fairly lenient and understanding. Don’t sound like you’re complaining or unwilling to participate. Just stick to the facts that unfortunately you don’t have someone to watch the children. They’ll dismiss you :)
