Second hand baby clothes?

Is it bad to buy a majority of baby clothes from places like Goodwill or another thrift store (washing them first of course.) I just don't see the point in buying hundreds of dollars worth of baby clothes since they grow  out of them quickly and they can get easily ruined with baby poop or food etc.  Or is that not sanitary ?

My motto was... Everything used except car seat and crib mattress! I definitely got new things, but I never shied away from used!

I've read that second hand clothes are actually better as they have been washed so many times that the chemicals from the production are or are almost gone, while new clothes are full of chemicals and take quite a lot of washes to get rid of. We buy a lot second hand. You're washing everything anyway so I don't see how it could be unsanitary.

I feel like onesies are sooo expensive brand new, luckily I found a store called Once Upon a Child and they have pre loved clothes, onesies being 10 for $10 and some are on clearance for .50 cents. You can’t beat it. Definitely look them up!

They grow out of stuff so fast that it is ridiculous to spend tons of money on brand new stuff all the time. Second hand is great. We got so many second hand items from people and thrift stores that we did not have to buy anything new for summer this year. It was such a help.

That’s what we are doing! Same with toys and even cloth diapers. Just sanitizing everything before. 
Eco friendly and budget friendly. Gives us more $$ to go out and experience life/vacation with our little family.

My son had a lot of second hand clothes and new clothes. It’s perfectly fine

That’s all my kids wear and really have ever worn. Unless it was clearance or a gift.

Theirs no problem in doing this I did it with my first just make sure to wash everything that’s all.

Buying from second hand store is perfectly fine. My parents did it almost my entire life and I plan to do it for my kids. If I want something specific, I’ll buy new. Otherwise I just look for cute stuff that doesn’t have stains (if you buy something with a stain, it typically has already set and you can’t get it out). Like you said, just wash it first
