when did you get your child’s ears pierced ?

So I’ve heard many different things. I’ve heard wait a year, I heard 6 months, and I even heard as early as 2 months. So when did you get your child’s ears pierced ? Where? And how did it go?

Not until they ask for it themselves and are old enough to take care of them until it heals. 
And take them to a tattoo shop to get it done, not Claire’s or any other jewelry store.

My oldest daughter is 12 and her ears are still not pierced. 
I think that speaks to mine and my husbands thoughts and feelings on that lol

I also waited until my child was old enough to ask. She just turned 7 and she spent her birthday money to get it done. She did not cry at all and I taught her how to clean them herself. She has been very responsible with it. Here's a pic right after, she is very proud of them!

I'm waiting only because I have vivid memories of my parents having to pin me down as a toddler to clean them. Mine were done at 4 months and it was fine as a baby, but my skin was sensitive and I absolutely hated cleaning them for periodic maintenance, and they'd get infected a lot. That's the only reason I'm waiting, I don't have a moral problem with it.
