Being induced. Any advice? I live in England

Hello ladies!! My due date was July 8th I am going to be induced on the 1st July now. Is there anything I should be prepared for? Like what’s the normal procedure of an induction? Any advice would be much appreciated thank you.

I was induced in England with my first baby.  Here is my advice.  REST as much as possible before the induction, use a TENS machine to distract you from the pain.  Ask them if they can let your waters break spontaneously.  They broke mine at the beginning when I was induced and my daughter was in a back to back position, I often wonder if she would have moved into a more favorable position and descended into the birth canal easier had they not broken my water at the beginning of the induction.   Make sure they remember to empty your urine catheter if you end up needing an epidural. My midwife forgot to empty mine and it was horrible.   Do not let a student “learn how to put an epidural in” on you if the hospital you are birthing at is connected to a university.  Someone was learning on mine and it wore off on half of me... so half of me felt nothing and half of me felt everything.  Do not be afraid to get an epidural...pitocin contractions are more intense than natural ones.  Be your own advocate and let them know what you need/ want.
