Has anyone eloped?

We got engaged Sunday and are talking about having a very small ceremony with just immediate family a close friends. Like maybe 20 people. My question is has anyone else done this? Did you regret such a small ceremony? Are there still any must haves?

We didnt even do as much as this, and I don't regret it. We got married at the courthouse alone! We wanted it private, as it's a commitment for us 2 only.

My first marriage I had a wedding. It was small, just immediate family and then a big reception. I hated every second. I wanted to elope but he wasn't having it. 
My second marriage was done at the court house, just the two of us. It was amazing and so intimate to be able to share that experience, just us. The money we saved went straight to an amazing honeymoon overseas. 
My point is, if you want something small and intimate, make sure that's exactly what it is.

We did. When we got engaged we spent like the next week deciding on a big wedding or eloping. We eloped a month later to Vegas and spent 4 days eating at Michelin star restaurants and gambling. Still spent a fraction of what we would have spent pulling off a big wedding. We both have huge families and wouldn’t have been able to plan a small wedding. My parents put together a casual “reception” with live music, kegs, food and everyone had a blast. My sister surprised us with a wedding cake so we still did the cake cutting thing. 11 years later, we still don’t regret it and would do it all over again! Congratulations!

I didn’t really want a wedding, it wasn’t something I ever dreamed of. We ended up having a destination wedding and inviting all our family and some friends. We rented a huge house for the week where anyone who wanted to stay there could and had the ceremony in the back yard. It was soo perfect and we ended up with 28 people.
