Which Breast Pump??

Hi September Mamas!
Have you ordered or researched breast pumps yet? Which one did you pick and why?
I’m looking into getting a Medela pump mainly because it’s a popular brand. Then I realized that Medala allows you to upgrade above what’s covered by insurance. Now that I have choices, I don’t know what to chose.

I'm getting a spectra s2. That's what I  used last time and I loved it! I've used the medela before and it was just loud and I dont feel like it pulled the milk as well as the spectra did.

Thanks Ladies! Based on your comments and some research, I’m now leaning towards the Spectra S1. 
Aeroflow has it as an upgrade with my insurance.

With my insurance I had the option of the Spectra 9 Plus, Medela, Lansinoh Smartpump, and the Motif Duo. I'm a first time mom and I chose the Motif Duo, because it had all of the qualities I was looking for in a breastpump and it also had amazing reviews! I'm so excited to use mine! I'll be ebf while on maternity leave, but I'll oump once I go back to work so baby girl can hopefully drink breastmilk aslong as possible.

I picked the Spectra and paid the small upgrade fee for the S1 to have the portable battery. I asked friends and did a lot of research online. The Spectra is a closed system so there isn’t risk of mold buildup which seems fairly common in the Medela. It is also lighter, quieter, and more powerful (hospital grade) than the Medela. The S2 was totally covered by my insurance but must be plugged in, so I paid $37 to upgrade so that I will have the portable one.

Last time I was expecting, I was able to get a Medela Pump in Style Advance through my insurance. It wasn't my favorite, but it did the job, and a lot of women swear by it! This time around, insurance covered a pump, and I chose the Spectra S2. I'm so excited to get it. My only hang up is that it only comes with two bottles to pump in, and only seems to be compatible with a few select bottles.

I picked the one that was covered by my insurance, I would look into that first. Medela was the one brand that I had heard of that was an option, so that is why I picked that one.

I’ve been doing research on the Medela and spectras. I’ve read some bad reviews of the medelas because it’s an open system and has a tendency to grow mold in the tubing. The spectras are a closed system and have tons of great reviews. The difference between the 1 and 2 is that the 1 has the battery option while the 2 must be plugged in to work. I’m leaning towards the spectra 1 for portability. I’m a FTM and really have no idea what to expect but I’m thinking I’ll want the option of having a back-up battery

Spectra is amazing! I loved mine. The Medela Symphony is by far the best of the Medela pumps, but most insurance companies won't cover that pump since it is the top of the line.
I also plan to purchase either the Elvie or Willow pump for when I go back to work. The option of handsfree, cordless pumping with no tubes or awkward pump to cart about seems like a lifesaver. It was so hard to get away for 20 minutes every 2 to 3 hours after I went back to work with my first that my supply dried up 2 months later. I'm hoping these pumps will allow me to pump discreetly wherever I am and make pumping much easier on the go.
