Sitting here crying
Because it's 5 am and my baby refuses to go to sleep. I've been up since 230am with her.. I've tried burping her several times as I feel it's gas but no dice. She just ate 4 oz and is clearly done but is just wide awake and crying. During the day of course she falls asleep as soon as she's fed and satisfied but at night it's like a whole different ball game where that doesn't work at all. She sleeps about 3 hours then when it comes time for the middle of the night feeding she refuses to go back to sleep. I dread it every night. I just cry because I'm so fucking tired and soon my husband goes back to work and I'll have to do it all on my own during the night and day. Not to mention we're relocating for his job but haven't found a house yet and will be living with his parents. I find myself so jealous and bitter towards those moms who post on here about how their baby sleeps 5, 6, 7 hour stretches.. Why is it my baby doesn't do that? I'm a first time mom and really struggling. Thanks for listening.
Edit: I do swaddle her but she likes her arms out so we swaddle her from the waist down which has been working better than swaddling her arms in. We use gas relief drops and probiotic drops everyday. We feed her in the dark without eye contact or talking to her so she isn't distracted and keep things quiet during that time. We make sure to keep her in a well lit room during the day. We use a white noise machine for bedtime which has been very helpful but doesn't work during the second stretch of the night after her middle of the night feeding. We do bicycle kicks, massaging her tummy, and burping her often during feedings. We've tried a lot of different things. Thank you all for your suggestions. We'll keep trying and soldiering on. I hope this all passes eventually.
