After you had your child how many of you ladies had some resentment towards your Partner?

So ladies reason why I’m asking is because after my daughter was born it seemed like my bf for the first few weeks found anyway to leave the house. I was so upset and Resented him a little bit because I felt like only my life had changed overnight and I was all alone . Things are better now but I’m just wondering If anyone else felt that way or was it just me

I felt resentment for all the wrong reasons. He was always there for me and the baby but I would get frustrated because he wouldn't know how to calm her down, would forget to burp her, didn't let her take breaks when she was drinking from a bottle etc. He just didn't know what to do yet but it wasn't his fault and I feel bad that I was getting upset at him, he was trying his best.

I had my baby 5 weeks ago exactly today and idk I’ve just have been feeling distant and unattached to my boyfriend since a week before my little boy was born. I just want to be with my baby and not be touched 😂

i do sometimes because i feel like i do all the work. he does change him and feed him but he goes out about everyday and hangs out with people and i’m all alone for hours with our baby. Almost every time baby wakes up to eat he will make a bottle then bring it to me and says he has to pee then comes back and goes to sleep. When he feeds him baby will be laying flat on his back or my boyfriends face will be glued to his phone barely paying attention to baby, he forgets to burp him, doesn’t wash bottles right. i don’t feel comfortable leaving him alone with our baby and I feel like i had to give up everything and he gave up nothing not that i care just makes me upset when i’m sitting by myself in my room feeding our baby i know he’s out having fun and i haven’t been out in a month

I didn’t with my first but I am with this baby. I think it’s because our first was taking his difficulty with the adjustment out on me, he was mean to me but my husband could do no wrong. And his parental leave was much shorter this time so he doesn’t have to deal with the hard crap as much like night feedings, the evil toddler, and getting places on time with both of them. Overall I’m having a much harder time adjusting to 2 than he is and I wish it was as easy for me as it is for him.

I can’t said the word is resent but I find myself frustrated because he hets to sleep at night (I’m ebf), go to work during the day (sounds like a damn break to me) because I work from home full time currently and take care of our little girl full time which is VERY hard to do both 😑 while he does come home and cook dinner and definitely helps with her when he can, he gets to go shower and brush his teeth or just chill when he wants while I have to plan everything carefully because she’s dependent on me and often have to just hold our 3 week old while trying to go poop during the day 😂😭 so I can’t say it’s resent but I’m envious of him.

My husband now is great and has been awesome with our newborn. He has left the house several times but honestly I prefer the quiet time alone with baby. I have two kids from a previous relationship though and having children showed me who that guy really was. I became totally unattracted to him after seeing his lack of parenting skills. Broke it off and we are both happier now. Good luck with everything. Perhaps have a sit down and explain your frustrations with him!

I had a hard time with my first and felt like I was doing a lot. So I think I resented him with my first child. This time I feel like he doesn’t really care or care to be involved with the baby but that’s just my perception. He does help out a lot with our toddler and takes care of her so I’m not resentful second time around.
