Has anyone changed their toddlers to their own bed instead of a crib?

My son is still in his crib, he can’t climb out yet and I feel like if I change him to his own bed he won’t sleep when I put him in it cuz he even knows how to get off my queen sized bed lol. I think he’d just go and play with toys in his room and not sleep !

He loves his crib and has never tried to climb out. We won't move him until he shows that he tries to climb out. The pediatrician advocated for keeping in crib for as long as possible. Sounds good to us :)

My daughter will be 2 in August. She's still in her crib. May have to change her soon though. She pit her toes up on the bar last night lol.  
I have kept mine in the crib until they try to climb out.

We have a toddler bed in our room. He normally falls asleep in our bed-- then I slip him into the big boy bed. He's super tall and quickly outgrew everything else. It's working out pretty decently.

My toddler was climbing out of the crib at 10 months. We switched him to a floor bed the day he climbed out of his crib, and baby proofed the room. He has full freedom of his room. He he chooses to get out of bed, and play I don't really care. As long as he stay in his room he can sleep or play as he wants.

We haven’t moved Vi into a toddler crib yet because we are worried about that as well. I’m also nervous about her trying to escape out of the house while we’re sleeping. She’s really good at opening locks and doors. Lol

Yes, she's in her own bed but it's in our room so we usually have her crawling in our bed in the middle of the night/morning.

Yes my daughter started climbing out the crib consistently by 18 months. We just got her a twin mattress that she’s been in for a month or two. Everything is going well and when she wakes up she usually just comes into our room and we put her back in bed.

My big is in a toddler bed. It took a little bit to get her to stay in it while she was going to sleep. I just sat beside it until she was asleep until she stopped trying. She does great now! It's in her own room so when she does get up in the morning she gets up and plays with her toys until she get hungry or wants me. We have a gate on the door and everything is bolted to the wall so I'm comfortable with her in there.

My daughter can climb out of her crib, but she usually doesn’t. We have had her in a “mini crib” which is basically the size of a pack n play but more solid, and I’ve noticed she’s as long as the crib is, basically her head is almost touching the top and her feet are almost touching the bottom. We’re buying a secondhand full size crib that the sides remove from to be more like a toddler bed mostly because I think she needs more space. If she’d let me I’d just put her in our king size bed but she basically demanded to go in her crib only. 
Anyway, no clue if we’ll do the toddler bed or crib. 
We’re expecting our second baby in December so the whole sleep situation is about to be up in the air again.

I don’t plan on changing unless I have a baby coming or my son tries to climb out. My son loves his crib lol
