Who lasts name should baby get?

I have been with my boyfriend for over a year and we are now expecting. He believes the baby should get his last name and not mine. However, I believe differently. I told him I want it to have mine and if we get married we can pay to change it to his last name. I have many reasons why I feel this way and have explained them to him but he does not agree at all.
