Best place to live on east coast?

We currently live in Greenville SC, but want to move. We want a more liberal area, would love mountains and maybe on the closer side to Pennsylvania where our family lives. Any ideas? We’re open to anywhere but would prefer east coast to stay close to my daughter’s father.

I know PA and most of the east coast isn’t very liberal that’s why I’m asking 😂 if we COULD we would move to Oregon or somewhere in the PNW, but I have a custody order with my daughter’s dad and don’t want to move very far from him. So we’re kind of limited. 😅
