What questions should I ask my doctor?

Hello Ladies, so DH & I have been TTC since late 2012. I have an appt in early October to see a Dr. I'm going to ask to start on Clomid. Are there any questions I should ask? Or another drug that is good to start on? I am confused & lost & don't know where to start. TIA. :)

I would ask them to draw out a plan for you. A timeline. How many rounds of Clomid? What next if that does not work? How many rounds of IUI? When do we move to IVF? What can I personally do to improve my chances?

I agree with some of the previous posters. You should have a full work up done including hsg and your partner should have a semen analysis done. From there your dr should be able to devise a plan for you. Good luck! Come to think of it, I was in your shoes meeting with our dr about a year ago now. Unfortunately, I'm not pregnant yet, but hopefully closer to achieving our goal.

Clomid only helps you ovulate. Please make sure you aren't ovulating before you ask, because if you are, then it won't help you. I know it can be nerve racking! Deep breaths! You're one step closer to your bouncing baby! Baby dust!

Definitely get all tests done to find out what the problem is...I've had a saline tubal profusion which checks your tubes and a hysteroscopy which checks your uterus....next would be a laparoscopy since the other tests turned out fine....the doctor will go over all you and your SO's history, do bloodwork, a urine test and an internal ultrasound...good luck to you!!

Do you know what causes your problems with fertility ? Do you have insurance?

Have you had blood work done and an HSG?  Has your husband had a semen analysis? The dr may want to do these things first before starting clomid.

If I were you I'd get all the testing possible before starting any treatments. You or dh might have an issue that clomid might not fix, but something else would.
