How do you cut a toxic person out of your life?

So I’ve been trying really hard to cut this toxic person out of my life and it’s just really hard because I once considered her a really good friend. So how do you cut a toxic person out of your life? Any advice or even commenting personal experiences of cutting toxic people out would be greatly appreciated! Also be as blunt as you want because I’d like a raw, honest, and un sugarcoated answer.

The same thing happened to me, I started hanging out with other people and slowly hung out and talked to them less and less until they are completely cut off

Just cut them out, cut off contact and don’t engage. If they’re toxic or not you don’t owe them an explanation.

When I found myself in similar situations- it really sucked. I had to really think about my boundaries, my values, and why it got to a point of no return. 
It wasn’t fun dropping people I valued, but I valued myself enough to realize that I shouldn’t keep toxic people in my life. 
So I started focusing on what made me happy, and less on what didn’t.
