Antibiotics and strep B??

Has anyone received antibiotics FOR treatment of strep B during labor even when the test came back negative???

Test came back positive for strep B with both of my older children.

I read a lot about it and found that it’s possible to have it with one pregnancy but not the next. I also read that taking probiotic helps prevent strep B. Well i did all I could and when it came time for the strep B test, it was negative.

Well when i got the results from my OB, he said he still wanted to treat me with antibiotics during labor because of my history with positive strep b even though the test was negative this time.

Has anyone been told the same?
